Vermicelli biryani ( semiya biryani in Tamil) recipe is an yummy, kids friendly breakfast cum dinner recipe. I got this semiya biryani recipe from my brahmin neighbour. She makes it without onion & garlic. But I used onions as per my liking.
Steps to make Peanut Vermicelli (without onion & garlic):
- Heat Oil in a pan on medium flame. Sauté peanuts for 2 mins and keep it aside. Put some salt on peanuts (while they are hot).
- In a separate pan, Add a pinch of salt and 1/2 tsp of oil. Boil vermicelli for few minutes.
- In the same pan. Add some oil (if required). Add tomatoes, salt and green chillies, stir it for a while.
- Add chopped veggies. Mix them well. You can keep cooking them on low flame. This should take only a minute or two.
- Add Red Chilli Powder and black Pepper Powder. Mix well.
- Add boiled Vermicelli, tomato ketchup, vinegar, soy sauce and mix well. Add salt (if required)
- Toss well. Add Peanuts and it's ready. Serve hot.
